Moonfare Launches AI-Focused Investment Strategy for Growth Managers
Moonfare, a global private markets platform, announced a new investment strategy focused on artificial intelligence and early-stage technology companies. The strategy combines allocations to growth-stage venture managers with direct investments in leading tech firms.
The portfolio will hold 8-15 venture managers selected for track records in scaling technology companies, paired with 8-15 direct co-investment opportunities sourced through Moonfare's network of fund managers. The strategy targets exposure across AI, cybersecurity, next-generation healthcare, deep tech, fintech infrastructure, and physical AI applications.
Access and Diversification as Core Problem
Top-tier growth opportunities in technology remain oversubscribed, with limited capacity and high minimum commitments that exclude most investors. Moonfare positions the strategy as a solution to three persistent challenges: identifying the right theme, gaining access to competitive deals, and building diversified exposure.
Steffen Pauls, Founder and Co-CEO of Moonfare, said: "AI is not a sector trend but a structural shift in how companies are built and scaled. Access to the managers and companies best positioned to capture that shift remains constrained."
By aggregating investor demand and leveraging existing relationships with fund managers, Moonfare aims to secure institutional-quality allocations that individual investors cannot access independently.
Institutional-Grade Selection
Initial allocations include technology managers with top-quartile performance records and direct exposure to a data intelligence platform company. Portfolio construction balances exposure across investment stages and technology categories.
Pavel Ermoline, Head of Venture Capital and Direct Investing at Moonfare, said: "The challenge for many market participants isn't identifying the theme - it's gaining access, building diversified exposure and partnering with managers who can consistently source the most competitive opportunities."
The launch extends Moonfare's existing co-investment strategy and reflects a broader shift toward discretionary capabilities for sophisticated investors and family offices seeking private markets exposure.
Finance professionals and institutional investors managing capital allocation decisions may find value in understanding AI for Finance as it relates to investment strategy and emerging technology sectors.
