NAVER Connect Foundation and the National Institute of Special Education (NISE) signed a memorandum of understanding on July 13 to develop AI education content for special education classrooms. The partnership, announced July 14, will bring AI-based learning tools to students with disabilities, helping them build skills in future technologies.
What the agreement covers
Under the MOU, the two organizations will use the foundation's expertise in AI and digital education to introduce tailored teaching materials into special education settings. They plan to create AI- and digital-based content designed specifically for students with disabilities and distribute it to schools. The partners will also supply AI education resources customized for special education platforms.
Building long-term access
The collaboration establishes a long-term cooperation framework to gradually improve access to technology and AI-related education for students with disabilities. NISE and NAVER Connect Foundation said the initiative will help these students learn future technologies in a structured way.
Why this matters for educators
Special education teachers will gain access to new, purpose-built AI content that can support individualized learning. As AI tools enter more classrooms, educators need practical training to use them effectively. Programs like AI for Teachers Courses can help teachers integrate technology into their instruction, including in special education environments. The MOU signals a growing commitment to making AI education inclusive, and teachers who build these skills early will be better prepared to meet diverse student needs.
