NBEMS launches free online AI in medical education programme for PG doctors and faculty
New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has opened applications for a free Online Programme on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medical Education. The course begins January 2026, runs fully online, and is open to postgraduate doctors, faculty, trainees, alumni, and other registered medical professionals.
The aim is simple: help clinicians and educators judge AI tools wisely, use them responsibly, and integrate them safely into clinical practice, teaching, and health systems in India. Patient safety, ethics, and accountability are front and center.
Who can apply
- NBEMS ongoing trainees
- NBEMS alumni (qualified 2020 onwards)
- Faculty of NBEMS-accredited departments
- Other registered medical professionals interested in AI applications in healthcare and medical education
Certification and attendance
Participants who attend at least 75% of classes live (with attendance marked at both the start and end) and pass the online assessment will receive a digital Course Completion Certificate.
- Live attendance is mandatory for certification.
- Recorded sessions do not count toward attendance.
How the live classes work
- The class schedule will be posted on the NBEMS website. Use the "Join the Class" link for each session to enter the platform and auto-mark start-of-class attendance.
- The link goes live 30 minutes before the session and remains active up to 30 minutes after the start time.
- At the end of each class, complete a brief questionnaire and submit feedback within one hour to mark end-of-class attendance.
- Attendance is valid only if marked at both the beginning and end of the class.
