Northeastern State University Introduces New Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State University (NSU) is launching a Bachelor of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics starting this fall semester. This program prepares students for careers where AI and data-driven decision-making are essential, covering industries such as healthcare, cybersecurity, finance, and manufacturing.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming every sector of our economy,” said NSU President Rodney Hanley. “At NSU, we are committed to preparing our students for the future workforce. This new degree equips students with the knowledge and ethical foundation needed to succeed in roles involving AI.”

Program Overview

The curriculum combines business fundamentals with technical training in AI tools, machine learning, data analytics, and database management. It reflects current industry standards and workforce requirements, focusing on practical skills.

Dr. Janet Buzzard, Dean of the College of Business & Technology, emphasized the program's human-centered approach: “This program goes beyond coding. It prepares students to solve problems, communicate effectively, and use AI responsibly, considering its effects on people and communities.”
