Nvidia Pushes Real-Time AI Video to Advertising Agencies

Nvidia is pitching advertising and entertainment companies on a new capability: AI video generation that happens in real time instead of taking minutes per output.

At Runway's AI Summit this week, the chipmaker demonstrated how its latest computing platform supports video-generation tools like Runway to produce video scenes on the fly. In live demos, the system updated scenes instantly as prompts changed, letting creators direct and adjust outputs without waiting.

"That speed changes everything," said Richard Kerris, vice president and general manager of media and entertainment at Nvidia. "Today, with agentic AI, you're conversing with your computer."

What This Means for Creatives

The shift from minutes-long rendering to near-instant feedback redefines how creative professionals work. Instead of submitting a request and waiting, creators can now iterate in real time-adjusting composition, color, movement, and narrative direction as they see results.

This workflow mirrors how designers already work with traditional tools. The difference is that AI now handles the execution while creatives focus on direction and judgment.

S4 Capital's Monks agency has spent two years building AI-driven production workflows. Nvidia is now using that work as a reference point for pitching the broader advertising industry on what's possible.

The Curator Model

Real-time AI video doesn't eliminate creative roles. Instead, it shifts them. Creatives become curators-making decisions about which outputs to refine, which directions to pursue, and what the final product should communicate.

This requires different skills than traditional video production. Understanding how to direct an AI system, evaluate its output, and iterate quickly becomes central to the work.

For professionals working in creative roles, understanding generative video tools and how to use them effectively is becoming essential. Learning how AI fits into creative workflows helps you stay relevant as production methods change.
