Navy Intelligence Office Seeks AI Vendors for Mission-Critical Data Work
The Office of Naval Intelligence has posted a sources sought notice requesting proposals from companies that can build and deploy AI systems to support national security analysts. The agency published the notice on SAM.gov on Monday and is accepting responses through March 31.
What ONI Needs
ONI is looking for contractors to develop AI applications that help analysts process mission-critical data. The work builds on previous Small Business Innovation Research Phase III contracts and will roll out in phases.
The contractor must handle data collection, model training and validation, then establish benchmarks to measure performance. The scope also includes building tools to assess the system at startup and expanding it to handle additional mission areas and data types.
Secure data pipelines are a core requirement. The contractor must ensure compliance with government data standards, prepare deployment packages with full documentation and labeling guidance, and provide onboarding support for end users.
Support and Maintenance
Beyond initial development, ONI requires ongoing services including system integration, evaluation, personnel training and technical maintenance. The contractor must deliver a detailed roadmap for long-term support that covers updates, repairs and the transition to operational use.
Companies interested in responding have until March 31 to submit their qualifications.
