Presight and Nasser Centre for Science and Technology Sign MoU to Advance AI Collaboration

October 14, 2025 - Presight and the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST) in the Kingdom of Bahrain have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand applied AI across key sectors. The agreement focuses on digital government, public safety, smart cities, and data-driven innovation.

Who signed and why it matters

The MoU was signed by Thomas Pramotedham, Chief Executive Officer of Presight, and Dr. Abdulla Naser Hasan Al Noaimi, Chief Executive Officer of NCST. The signing was witnessed by His Excellency Mansoor Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman of Presight, Dr. Adel Al Sharji, Chief Operating Officer of Presight, and Dr. Jassim Haji, Executive Advisor for AI & Data Science at NCST.

NCST's AI Research and Development team studies global scientific trends and builds applied projects for priority sectors in the region. Presight brings experience in deploying large-scale AI programs, creating a practical base for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and real-world pilots.

What the collaboration includes

  • Joint task forces to identify high-impact use cases across government and industry.
  • Innovation workshops to co-develop prototypes and implementation roadmaps.
  • Pilot projects to validate applied AI in public safety, digital government, and smart city operations.
  • Knowledge exchange on data analytics, model development, and operational deployment aligned with regional priorities.

Quotes from leadership

"This collaboration reflects the Centre's commitment to supporting scientific research and technological innovation, and to strengthening integration among leading institutions in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics". He noted that through such regional partnerships, the Centre contributes to developing practical scientific and technological solutions that enhance the region's competitiveness and advance its digital development efforts." - Dr. Abdulla bin Naser Al Noaimi, Chief Executive Officer, NCST

"Presight is committed to working with governments and public institutions across the region to accelerate data-driven transformation and strengthen institutional capabilities. The Memorandum of Understanding with the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology represents an important step towards strengthening regional integration and the exchange of expertise in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics. Together, we will apply data and artificial intelligence to deliver smarter, safer, and more sustainable solutions for government and society, and develop technologies that create measurable impact across the Kingdom." - Thomas Pramotedham, Chief Executive Officer, Presight

Practical takeaways for research teams

  • Define measurable targets early. Agree on problem statements, datasets, and success metrics before prototyping.
  • Operationalize governance. Align pilots with an AI risk and quality framework such as the NIST AI RMF for model risk, security, and monitoring.
  • Design for deployment. Prioritize models that can integrate with existing government systems, data standards, and audit requirements.
  • Validate in context. Use field trials in live environments with clear feedback loops, bias checks, and post-deployment evaluation plans.
  • Build repeatable tooling. Create shared evaluation suites, data documentation, and MLOps templates to speed up subsequent pilots.

NCST's role in regional AI R&D

NCST advances applied research and develops solutions to real operational challenges in priority sectors. The Centre also builds regional and international partnerships, reinforcing its position as a hub for scientific research and future technologies.

What's next

The MoU sets up a clear pathway: task forces define collaboration areas, workshops shape technical plans, and pilots demonstrate measurable outcomes. Expect a focus on reproducibility, data stewardship, and deployment-readiness-key factors for scaling beyond proofs of concept.
