Prosper AI Raises $5M to Build Healthcare's Default Voice AI for Patient Access and Revenue Cycle
Administrative work soaks up time and money in healthcare. A third of hospital and practice staff are focused on admin tasks, costing the system an estimated $450B each year. Phones ring, hold times stretch, claims stall. Patients wait, revenue slips, and teams burn out.
Seed round and traction
Prosper AI closed a $5M seed round led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, CRV, and Company Ventures. The platform's healthcare-specialized voice agents already run hundreds of thousands of calls across clients that include a Providence-affiliated hospital, a Fortune 50 pharma hub, a 30,000-employee billing company serving top health systems, and a leading EHR with 100,000+ providers. Revenue is up 4x since Q2 2025, driven by measurable call outcomes and faster workflows.
What the platform does
Prosper builds AI voice agents that sound natural, plug into practice management and EHR systems, and take on patient access and revenue cycle work. They schedule appointments, verify benefits, process prior auths, resolve billing inquiries, and follow up on claims. They can jump past IVRs, wait on hold with insurers, pull the data you need in minutes, and hand off to staff when a human is the better answer.
Results you can act on
- Patient calls: Automated scheduling, billing questions, and follow-ups with a 50-70% automation rate for inbound calls. Call center strain drops and patient satisfaction improves.
- Payer calls: Benefits checks, prior auths, and claims follow-up. 99% accuracy getting through payer IVRs and extracting information. Sub-2-hour turnaround for complex interactions.
Built for healthcare enterprises
Every deployment is configured to the organization's workflows, SOPs, and tech stack. That includes deep EHR and PM integrations and battle-tested playbooks for both front desk and back-office operations. Health systems, billing companies, healthtech vendors, insurers, and pharma hubs use Prosper as a single partner for voice AI across patient access and RCM.
Customer outcomes
At Synergy Healthcare Associates, Prosper automates more than half of front desk calls, from scheduling to waitlist management, with expansion underway into benefits and claims. "Prosper has redefined how our call center runs by simplifying intricate processes, shortening patient wait times, and boosting efficiency, all the while sounding very human," said Nathan Woelfel, COO at Synergy Healthcare Associates. "The team's ability to deliver at speed and customize to our needs has been incredible."
Founders and mission
Co-founders Josep Mingot and Xavier de Gracia met in Boston while at MIT and Harvard. They launched Prosper in 2023 to apply their call center and regulated-industry experience to healthcare's access and revenue bottlenecks. "Our mission is to unlock universal access to care by empowering healthcare organizations to achieve unprecedented efficiency with AI Agents," said Xavier de Gracia.
What's next
Prosper is extending beyond voice into a broader AI workforce for healthcare. Agents are being trained to read faxes, connect to APIs, and take actions directly in EHR systems. The goal: cut waste and redirect resources to care.
For healthcare leaders
- Start with two high-volume workflows: inbound scheduling and benefits verification. Measure wait times, abandonment, and days in A/R before and after.
- Map your SOPs and escalation rules. Let the agent handle repetitive steps and route edge cases to staff with full call context.
- Integrate with your PM/EHR to eliminate manual re-entry. Immediate value comes from closed loops, not transcripts.
