PTC delivers new AI functionality for software-driven product development with new ALM releases
PTC has rolled out Codebeamer 3.2, Codebeamer AI 1.0 and Pure Variants 7.2-focused on stronger traceability, faster change management and governed AI that fits regulated workflows. For teams in automotive, medtech, federal, aerospace and defense, this pushes ALM closer to a true system of record for software and requirements.

What's new in Codebeamer 3.2 and Pure Variants 7.2
- Digital thread integrations: Connect Codebeamer with PTC's Windchill PLM and other enterprise systems to link software and hardware development, reduce manual handoffs and simplify compliance.
- Stream Baselines: Capture complete, consistent snapshots across all projects within a stream. Makes it easier to pinpoint project states and control change across complex portfolios.
- Review Hub upgrades: Bulk approvals/rejections, clearer notifications and visual difference highlights help teams finish reviews faster with fewer errors.
- Feature-Based PLE: Automates stream and baseline creation. Delta Merge (Beta) supports concurrent development across platforms and variants, improving reuse across the product line.
AI that respects standards and traceability
Codebeamer AI 1.0 introduces two assistants built for real product teams under regulatory pressure: the Requirements Assistant and the Test Case Assistant. The goal: reduce manual review cycles while staying aligned to industry guidance.
- Requirements Assistant: Automatically flags requirement quality issues based on guidance from bodies like INCOSE and ISTQB, helping teams write clearer, standards-aligned requirements with less dependence on senior reviewers.
- Test Case Assistant: Generates and optimizes test cases directly from requirements to improve accuracy and consistency, strengthen traceability and speed up validation.
