Puerto Rico ASG Seeks AI Innovators to Transform Government Services
Puerto Rico’s General Services Administration seeks AI providers to improve government services through virtual assistants, predictive modeling, and automation. Info session is July 17, 2025.

ASG Invites AI Solution Providers to Modernize Government Services
The Puerto Rico General Services Administration (ASG) has issued a request for information (RFI) to engage technology providers specializing in artificial intelligence. The objective is to accelerate the adoption of AI tools across government agencies and municipalities to improve service delivery.
ASG Administrator Karla Mercado emphasized the urgency of integrating technology into government operations. “The government must be at the forefront,” she said. The RFI seeks direct input from experts to identify AI solutions that enhance operational efficiency, citizen access, and data-driven decision-making.
Focus Areas and Eligible Technologies
The RFI targets companies with experience in deploying AI within public sector or large-scale environments. Key areas of interest include:
- Virtual assistants
- Predictive modeling
- Intelligent data analysis
- Process automation
- Computer vision
Submissions may also feature generative AI, autonomous agents, software as a service (SaaS), hybrid deployment models, and relevant certifications related to security and sustainability.
Clarification on the RFI Process
Mercado noted that this RFI is an initial step rather than a formal procurement. The goal is to identify viable, secure, and ethical AI options that comply with government standards for transparency and efficiency.
