Razer Launches AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore
Razer, the well-known gaming peripheral brand, has opened an AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore to boost the development of AI-driven gaming technology. This facility marks the first of three planned global AI hubs, with upcoming centres set for Europe and the USA.
The Singapore centre is backed by Digital Industry Singapore, a joint initiative of the Singapore Economic Development Board, EnterpriseSG, and the Infocomm Media Development Authority. Together, they plan to recruit 150 local AI specialists, focusing on engineering, data science, and game development.
Li-Meng Lee, Chief Strategy Officer at Razer, stated, “Razer’s global AI centres of excellence are a strategic investment in AI gaming. By advancing research, talent, and product innovation, we aim to lead the future of gaming. Our Singapore centre will be a key driver of this mission, alongside our hubs in Europe and the USA.”
The decision to establish this centre reflects broader industry trends. The gaming market is projected to reach $400 billion by 2033, according to Straits Research. Within this, AI gaming is expected to grow to $28 billion by 2033, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 24.8%, as reported by Market.US.
Philbert Gomez, Executive Director and Head of Digital Industry Singapore, added, “Razer’s launch of their AI centre of excellence highlights Singapore’s appeal as a location for AI development within digitally advanced sectors. Razer’s innovation in AI-powered gaming solutions will also present opportunities for talent to build flagship AI gaming products from Singapore, strengthening our position as an AI innovation hub for the region.”
Razer’s Esports Initiatives for 2025

In June, Razer entered a multi-year partnership with 100 Thieves, becoming the official headset, controller, and chair partner for multiple esports titles. The brand also sponsored 100 Thieves’ annual Summer Block Party event.
Razer has also explored AI technology before, notably with its AI esports coaching program called Project AVA, announced at CES 2025. This program aims to bring smarter training tools to gamers using AI-driven insights.
