EdTech Company Establishes Saudi Arabia Hub, Eyes 10% Revenue Growth
Ruanyun Edai Technology, a NASDAQ-listed AI education company, has opened a regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia as it pursues expansion across the Middle East and North Africa. The move signals a strategic shift toward international markets and sets the stage for a planned rebrand to Formind Group, pending shareholder approval.
The Saudi operation, registered as Soft Cloud Smart Technology Company, will serve as a decision-making hub for the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The company expects to deploy its AI-powered learning platforms, automated assessment tools, and Smart Exam proctoring solution across Saudi schools and education systems.
Revenue Targets and Financial Outlook
The company expects full-year 2026 revenue to reach approximately $7.35 million, representing roughly 10% growth from $6.69 million in 2025. Management anticipates most of this growth will arrive in the second half of the year due to delivery milestones and revenue recognition timing.
By the end of 2027, Ruanyun Edai aims to derive about 60% of revenue from international markets, up from a primarily domestic focus. The company plans to reach this target through organic expansion, partnerships, and acquisitions.
Product Rollout in the Region
The Saudi headquarters will focus on four areas:
- Chinese language learning programs for schools
- AI-powered tutoring and assessment platforms
- Smart Exam deployment for academic integrity and proctoring
- Partnerships with local governments and education providers
Saudi Arabia's education modernization initiatives and demand for international curricula make it an attractive market for the company's solutions. Ruanyun Edai said the regional hub will help localize products and deepen relationships with institutional customers.
What This Means for Education Leaders
For education professionals evaluating AI tools, this expansion signals growing availability of AI-based assessment and tutoring systems in international markets. The company's focus on AI for Education aligns with broader adoption of automated grading and AI for Teachers in classroom settings.
The transition toward a global platform suggests these tools will become more accessible across regions, though education leaders should note the company's strategic shift is still subject to regulatory approval and shareholder votes.
Transition to Formind Group Pending
The planned rebrand to Formind Group requires shareholder approval and regulatory clearance. The company has not provided a timeline for when this transition will complete. Until then, operations will continue under the Ruanyun Edai Technology name.
