Salesforce Advances AI Tools to Boost Australian Government Services

Salesforce has introduced new AI solutions and expanded its presence in Australia, targeting improved public sector service delivery. The company’s latest offerings focus on automating routine tasks and supporting government agencies in digital transformation efforts.

Australia’s AI Readiness and Opportunities

The Global AI Readiness Index, produced with input from AI Policy Lab and Access Partnerships, ranks Australia seventh out of 16 countries assessed for AI preparedness. The evaluation considered AI governance, digital infrastructure, and collaboration between public and private sectors. Leading countries include the United States, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, noted for their coordinated AI strategies and advanced digital frameworks.

Australia received positive marks for piloting AI in public services and its policy framework but needs to strengthen domestic research and capital investment. Sassoon Grigorian, Vice President Government Affairs at Salesforce APAC, highlighted the potential for agentic AI to enhance productivity and government service delivery. He also recommended establishing a National Office of AI and an AI Safety Institute to align strategy and build trust—steps already taken by countries like the US, UK, Japan, and Korea.

Agentforce for Public Sector: Streamlining Government Workflows

To support government agencies, Salesforce launched Agentforce for Public Sector, a suite of intelligent AI agents designed to handle complex and repetitive tasks within set guidelines. This allows public sector employees to focus on critical objectives while AI manages routine duties, improving responsiveness and operational efficiency.

The solution recently earned PROTECTED status after passing the Independent Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), meeting Australia’s highest security standards for sensitive data management. Glenn Rozet, Senior Vice President Public Sector ANZ at Salesforce, emphasized the importance of balancing productivity gains with trust and security in government services.

Currently, Agentforce supports Compliance Management, Complaint Management, and Recruitment Management. Planned features for October 2025 include job recommendations, benefit applications, and complaint filing functionalities.

Expanding Presence in Canberra

Salesforce has relocated its Canberra office to Barton, enhancing its capacity to serve public sector clients. This move reflects a commitment to support government digital transformation and deliver better citizen outcomes.

Relina Bulchandani, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Workplace Services at Salesforce, explained that the new office will foster collaboration among humans, AI agents, and automation technologies to accelerate growth and innovation for government teams.

Looking Ahead

Salesforce’s developments underline its focus on helping Australian governments adopt secure, digital-first services. These efforts align with broader regional investment plans, aiming to improve service delivery and operational efficiency across public sector agencies.
