Scispot Launches Scibot Omega to Coordinate Lab AI Agents

Scispot released Scibot Omega, an orchestration system that directs dozens of specialized AI agents to execute lab workflows through natural language commands. The platform is available now to existing Scispot customers.

Scibot Omega addresses a practical problem in research operations: most labs patch together chatbots, spreadsheets, and manual updates to manage experiments and samples. A single general-purpose AI assistant struggles with concrete tasks like updating experiment records, changing sample data, or linking results to the right worksheet. Work gets duplicated across tools, and teams spend time verifying AI output instead of running experiments.

The system works by breaking down a scientist's request into specific tasks and assigning each to the right agent. A researcher can ask to "show my recent PCR experiments and update their status," and Scibot Omega routes that request to agents that handle experiment records and sample tracking. Because each agent focuses on one domain-experiments, storage locations, documents-the system completes tasks more reliably than a single chatbot.

What Scibot Omega Can Do

  • Execute multi-step actions like updating experiment status across linked records in the electronic lab notebook and spreadsheets
  • Convert research intent into executable protocols, run plans, and material checklists tied to specific samples
  • Transform raw data from spreadsheets into quality control checks, curve fits, and annotated charts
  • Retrieve standard operating procedures and training documents from the knowledge base and connect them to relevant experiments and samples
  • Keep sample, reagent, and storage information current by updating records when concentrations or locations change
  • Maintain approval workflows for sensitive actions while logging who requested what and when

Satya Singh, CTO and co-founder of Scispot, said the shift from single chatbots to coordinated agents solves a real operations gap. "Most labs have tried AI through a single chatbot that is good at talking but not at running the lab. Scibot Omega changes this by acting as a conductor for many focused AI lab agents, so each task is handled by the right specialist."

The platform connects to over 7,000 apps and 250 instrument types. Scispot serves drug discovery, contract testing, molecular diagnostics, pathology, and biobanking teams. Existing customers can enable Scibot Omega in their workspace. New teams can request a demo at www.scispot.com/demo.

For operations professionals managing lab workflows, understanding how AI Agents & Automation coordinate tasks across systems is increasingly relevant.
