ServiceTitan Pushes Into Commercial Construction Tech With Atlas AI
At its Sept. 17-19 Pantheon 2025 conference in Anaheim, ServiceTitan introduced Atlas, an AI-driven system aimed at automating project administration and financial tasks at commercial and infrastructure scale. The move signals a serious push beyond specialty contracting into multi-project, multi-phase delivery.
Founded in 2012 and public on Nasdaq (TTAN) since December 2024, ServiceTitan now supports tens of thousands of contractors for scheduling, dispatch, invoicing and customer communication. More than 4,000 users attended Pantheon 2025, underscoring momentum behind the platform.
Atlas: An AI co-pilot for complex project delivery
Executives positioned Atlas as a configurable assistant that adapts to a contractor's business context. It can run reports, dispatch technicians, generate RFIs, and fill daily logs-taking on compliance and administrative work that slows field execution.
For firms juggling portfolios, Atlas streamlines multi-project workflows so teams can see where money, labor and materials are committed-and what needs action today.
Key capabilities that matter on jobs with many moving parts
- Real-time Project P&L: A live margin view to track cost-to-complete, billing, and burn.
- Three-way match for vendor bills: ServiceTitan says up to 90% of invoices can be auto-approved against POs and receipts.
- Global Project Backlog: Aggregated labor demand and capacity to prevent over/under-allocation.
- Spec-based estimating to procurement: Estimates feed directly into purchasing with embedded supplier catalogs and pricing.
- Measurement integrations: Field data auto-populates forms and daily logs to reduce manual entry.
- Portfolio organization: Project Groups, Project Templates and Parent Projects for program-level oversight.
- Reporting dashboards: Performance tracking across all project touchpoints.
Commercial financial controls and outcomes
ServiceTitan has built out job costing, progress billing and AR management. The company reports long-term users see net profit margins up by 2%, payments collected 12 days faster on average and 8% more projects delivered on time.
"In an instant, I can pull a WIP report and see every project live today-what billing looks like, how much we billed on equipment, how much we used on labor," said John Hurst, president of Interstate AC.
Supplier integrations and estimating accuracy
Integrations embed live catalogs, pricing and estimate-to-order workflows. Recent deals include SRS Distribution, ABC Supply and Ferguson Enterprises, connecting roofing, HVAC, plumbing and PVF materials directly into estimating and purchasing.
Sessions addressed margin pressure from stale inputs. "If you're still using outdated cost multipliers in your estimates, you're already losing margin. Real-time data is critical," said Sue Diamond, a ServiceTitan solutions delivery manager.
Market implications
Atlas now competes for scope historically handled by enterprise platforms from Procore, Autodesk and Trimble. If subs adopt Atlas at scale, owners and GCs could see direct impacts on reporting cadence, billing cycles and upstream risk allocation.
Signals of traction
ServiceTitan said nearly 2,000 contractors on its platform recorded at least one $1-million revenue month in the past year, with 137 reporting a $1-million day. "I've been to almost every Pantheon since the early days, and it just keeps getting bigger and better," said Renee Lenox, business operations manager at Service Specialties Inc.
"AI isn't going to replace contractors, but it will absolutely transform how they operate," said Ara Mahdessian, co-founder and CEO. "Business owners who adapt and embrace this new reality will thrive, while those who don't will be left behind."
Practical next steps for contractors
- Map your current estimating-to-procurement flow and define where three-way match should auto-approve vs. route for review.
- Pilot Atlas on a limited set of projects with clear KPIs: DSO, labor variance, invoice cycle time and on-time delivery.
- Standardize Project Templates, RFIs and daily logs; enforce naming conventions and cost codes to keep reports clean.
- Connect supplier catalogs where you buy the most; validate pricing sync and change-order handling before scaling.
- Train PMs and accounting on the P&L dashboard and WIP; set thresholds for alerts on margin erosion and schedule risk.
