Shanghai AI Firm Partners with Uzbekistan to Build Modular Intelligent Computing Center
Shanghai-based AI company LinkWise is collaborating with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technologies and two Chinese tech firms to establish a Modular Intelligent Computing Center (MICC) in Central Asia. This initiative aims to create a flexible, deployable "AI brain" that provides essential computing power to support Uzbekistan’s digital government, smart city projects, and industrial upgrades.
The project is a joint effort between LinkWise, the Uzbek government, China Electronic Technology Development Co., and Shanghai Oriental Credits Industrial Development Co. Once operational, the MICC will drive Uzbekistan’s digital transformation and help position the country as a regional technology hub.
Expanding AI and Technology Collaboration Along Belt and Road
This is not LinkWise’s first project under the Belt and Road framework. Earlier this month, the company signed agreements to work on AI, blockchain, and energy technologies with UAE-backed China Arab Mutually Beneficial Energy Holdings and the Dalian Huanbohai Energy Trading Center.
Sun Lihong, LinkWise’s assistant president, stated, “We hope to bring China’s AI technologies and computing capabilities to Belt and Road countries, supporting their digital transformation.” This project highlights growing cooperation between China and Central Asian nations, moving beyond trade and investment into sectors like artificial intelligence.
Central Asia’s Focus on High-Quality Digital Cooperation
These developments align with the priorities voiced at the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, from June 16 to 18. Central Asian leaders emphasized their interest in deepening cooperation with China and expanding collaboration in science and technology, infrastructure, new energy, and connectivity.
The Modular Intelligent Computing Center will contribute to these goals by providing a technological foundation for Uzbekistan’s modernization efforts and supporting broader regional ambitions.
- Modular Intelligent Computing Center (MICC) offers scalable AI processing power
- Supports digital government, smart city initiatives, and industrial modernization
- Part of China’s Belt and Road cooperation with Central Asia
- Reflects growing focus on AI and advanced tech in regional partnerships
