Silex and Edge Impulse partner on edge AI platform for industrial and healthcare markets

Silex Technology and Edge Impulse announced a collaboration to bring edge AI development tools to Silex's EP-200Q System-on-Module, a hardware platform built on Qualcomm's Dragonwing QCS6490 processor. The partnership pairs Edge Impulse's machine learning operations platform with Silex's module to streamline the path from prototype to production for industrial automation and healthcare applications.

The combined offering targets vision-guided robotics, smart manufacturing, virtual nursing systems, and remote patient monitoring. Both companies are focusing on the U.S. and Japanese markets, where manufacturers are increasingly deploying edge AI to improve productivity and safety.

What the partnership delivers

The EP-200Q includes a CPU, GPU, and dedicated AI acceleration hardware in a compact form factor. Silex is adding validated Wi-Fi 7 drivers as part of the development package, addressing the connectivity requirements that industrial and medical deployments demand.

Edge Impulse handles the software side: data pipelines, model optimization, and on-device inference. Together, the stack reduces the time manufacturers need to move from development to production while supporting enterprise-grade AI workflows.

Equipment makers gain access to long-term hardware support and a platform designed for reliability-critical requirements in industrial and medical settings where downtime carries real costs.

For development teams

If you're building AI applications for industrial or medical devices, this partnership simplifies a common bottleneck: integrating specialized hardware with MLOps tooling. The pre-validated combination means less time spent troubleshooting driver issues or optimizing models for unfamiliar chipsets.

Organizations interested in evaluating the EP-200Q can contact Silex Technology directly to discuss specific use cases.
