Government of Sindh Launches First AI Training Program for Officials
The Government of Sindh has taken a significant step by launching its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) training program specifically for government officials. This initiative, led by the Planning & Development Department, offers a practical two-day, hands-on training focused on applying AI to improve governance, service delivery, automation, and policy development.
The program targeted officers from BPS-17 to BPS-20, providing tools and knowledge to integrate AI solutions into everyday government operations. This marks a notable advancement in public sector innovation within Pakistan.
Expert-Led Training Sessions
The training was conducted by Ammara Aftab, Pakistan’s first female AI trainer and founder of Pro AI Global, along with Faraz Hussain Buriro, Vice President of Pro AI Global and CEO of Pak GPT. Ammara Aftab has been instrumental in AI education across Pakistan, including conducting the country’s first AI workshop for legal professionals.
The involvement of Ammara Aftab highlights Sindh’s commitment to fostering women-led innovation and building national AI expertise in the public sector.
Hands-On Learning with Advanced AI Tools
Participants engaged with AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude during the sessions. The training emphasized practical use cases, showing how government departments can utilize AI to enhance departmental efficiency, transparency, and citizen interaction.
