SLRB Advances AI Monitoring System with New Agreement for Phase Two
Date: 24 Aug 2025
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has signed a new agreement with international AI company Aetosky to launch the second phase of an AI-powered system for monitoring changes and detecting building violations across the Kingdom. This step is part of SLRB’s ongoing efforts to enhance geospatial data systems and integrate artificial intelligence into government services.
Enhancing Government Efficiency through AI
Basim bin Yacob Al Hamer, President of the SLRB, highlighted that the AI system is a key project for expanding digital infrastructure and improving coordination among government bodies. By automating the detection of urban and natural changes via satellite imagery, the system increases accuracy, speeds up decision-making, and raises service quality for the public.
This project supports the Government Programme (2023–2026), focusing on improving government performance and accelerating digital transformation. The integration of AI tools helps streamline monitoring processes and delivers more reliable spatial data to relevant agencies.
Focus on Knowledge Transfer and Local Capacity Building
The second phase emphasizes transferring AI technology and expertise to the SLRB team, enabling local management and development of the system. This approach will ensure sustainable operation and continuous improvement, boosting the Bureau’s digital readiness and service delivery standards.
Building local skills aligns with the goal of providing long-term, high-quality government services tailored to the needs of citizens and stakeholders.
Proven Success and Broader Collaboration
The new phase builds on the first, which was successfully implemented alongside the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. The initial deployment led to a 60% improvement in monitoring efficiency, demonstrating the value of AI in managing land and building data.
Expanding the system to additional government agencies will enhance overall performance, strengthen spatial data management, and promote closer integration of technology and public services.
Public-Private Partnership Driving Digital Progress
Abhay Swarup Mittal, CEO of Aetosky, pointed out that the agreement exemplifies effective collaboration between the public and private sectors. The partnership focuses on delivering a smart AI platform that detects changes with high precision and generates actionable reports for decision-makers.
This cooperation supports the Bureau’s commitment to improving government operations and fostering stronger coordination among agencies to achieve national objectives.
