Sparsh CCTV and Japan's DMP Partner on Edge AI Camera Development
Sparsh CCTV, an Indian surveillance equipment manufacturer, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Digital Media Professionals Inc. (DMP), a Japan-based semiconductor company, to develop next-generation CCTV cameras that process AI directly at the device level.
The partnership pairs DMP's Di1 edge AI semiconductor technology with Sparsh's capabilities in hardware design, system development, and manufacturing. Sparsh will lead hardware design, system integration, and prototype development.
Why Edge AI Matters for Surveillance
Edge AI processing-running analytics inside the camera rather than sending data to the cloud-reduces latency, cuts bandwidth requirements, and improves privacy protection. As surveillance systems shift from passive monitoring to active threat detection, this capability becomes essential for real-time response.
The technology applies to smart cities, transportation infrastructure, and enterprise security operations.
What Each Partner Brings
DMP: GPU and AI semiconductor expertise, plus the Di1 processor technology.
Sparsh: Product design, engineering, manufacturing infrastructure, and prototyping capabilities in India.
Sanjeev Sehgal, Sparsh's founder and managing director, said the collaboration combines "DMP's semiconductor expertise with Sparsh's product development capabilities" to create "high-performance surveillance solutions that are smarter, faster, and future-ready."
Tatsuo Yamamoto, DMP's chairman and president, said the partnership with an established Indian manufacturer addresses "a market with particularly high growth potential" and represents "a major step forward in expanding business opportunities for Di1."
Product Development Focus
For product development teams, this partnership illustrates a core trend: hardware manufacturers increasingly embed AI processing into devices rather than relying on cloud infrastructure. The two companies will focus on advanced camera architectures that support next-generation video analytics.
The collaboration reflects India's push toward technology manufacturing self-sufficiency while addressing global demand for intelligent surveillance systems.
