Stellantis and Microsoft expand AI collaboration across vehicles and operations
Stellantis and Microsoft announced a five-year partnership to develop more than 100 AI initiatives across sales, customer care, operations and product development. The automaker will use Microsoft Azure to modernize its infrastructure while strengthening cybersecurity defenses across connected vehicles and manufacturing sites.
For product development teams, the collaboration targets faster innovation cycles. AI will handle product validation, predictive maintenance and testing-functions that typically consume significant development time.
Stellantis plans to deploy AI-driven analytics in its global cyber defense center to detect threats across IT systems, connected vehicles and manufacturing sites. The system will work to protect customer data and vehicle connectivity, including in remote areas where network access is limited.
Infrastructure and operational gains
The company will consolidate its data center footprint by 60% by 2029 through cloud migration. This reduction should improve system performance and allow faster deployment of digital features to customers.
AI will accelerate the rollout of new capabilities. Peugeot owners could receive driving efficiency recommendations tailored to urban environments, while Jeep drivers will get proactive vehicle health alerts and feature updates.
What this means for product teams
The partnership addresses two practical challenges in automotive development: speed and scale. Automating validation and testing compresses development timelines. The cloud infrastructure supports continuous feature deployment rather than waiting for major software releases.
