STL Reports Strong Q1 Performance, Advances with Multi-Core Fibre and AI-Driven Data Centre Solutions
STL, a leader in optical and digital solutions, announced its financial results for the quarter ended 30 June 2025. The company posted revenues of INR 1,019 Cr and an EBITDA of INR 140 Cr for Q1 FY26, marking year-on-year growth of approximately 17% and 94%, respectively.
Despite a changing tariff environment, STL's focus remains on enhancing performance and profitability through innovation and cost leadership. The company is strengthening customer relationships and boosting sales in key markets including the US, Europe, and India. This progress is evident in a strong open order book of INR 4,888 Cr, with order intake of INR 1,529 Cr in the quarter alone.
Optical Networking Business Sees Significant Growth
The Optical Networking segment achieved an 18.6% increase in revenue and a 55.7% rise in EBITDA compared to Q1 FY25. STL concentrated on co-developing optical products that meet comprehensive connectivity needs of customers. Notably, the attach rate for the Optical Connectivity (OC) segment reached about 23% this quarter, following its launch in the US last year.
Additionally, STL generated around 23% of its revenue this quarter from the Enterprise and Data Centre segment.
Expanding AI-Led Data Centre Portfolio
To meet growing demand, STL recently expanded its data centre offerings to include high-performance fibre and copper cabling solutions designed for AI-driven data centres. These solutions deliver high capacity and low latency, supporting scalable, future-ready deployments for complete data centre connectivity.
STL Digital Strengthens Global Client Base
STL Digital added four new clients in Q1, bringing its total to 30 global customers. The division secured multi-million and multi-year contracts with three leading private healthcare providers for Digital Marketing services. It also signed a significant deal with a global communications devices company focused on network modernization.
Key Highlights for Q1 FY26
- Major Contracts: A 3-year Long-Term Supply Agreement (LTSA) was signed for Intelligently-Bonded Ribbon (IBR) cable with a leading European telecom operator. STL also secured a notable order from a key US customer for high fibre count optical fibre cable solutions, marking a strong return after a year.
- Partnerships: Collaborated with Swoop to upgrade approximately 1,000 homes in Western Australia with high-speed Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) connectivity.
- Innovation Milestones: STL became the first company globally to deploy Multi-Core Fiber (MCF) in both aerial and underground networks. In partnership with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), STL achieved India’s first Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) transmission over a 100 km, 4-core MCF network. Additionally, STL and IIT Madras conducted a test with MCF cable on a 5+ km live testbed, positioning STL as a leader in global MCF design and testing standards.
- Patent Portfolio: STL’s patent count reached 740 by the end of Q1 FY26.
