Tabs raises $55m Series B to automate contract-to-cash with AI agents

September 17, 2025 - New York

Tabs, an AI-native revenue platform for finance teams, closed a $55m Series B led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from General Catalyst, Primary Venture Partners, and World Innovation Lab (WiL). The raise brings total funding to more than $91m.

Founded in 2023, Tabs deploys AI agents across the contract-to-cash lifecycle-billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting. The goal is straightforward: replace manual ERP-bound workflows and fragmented systems with automated, auditable processes that move faster and reduce errors.

Why finance leaders should care

Revenue operations remain a bottleneck, even after major gains in payments and payroll. Tabs targets the core issues-manual invoicing, overdue follow-ups, reconciliation, and compliance checks-that slow cash and stretch close timelines.

For CFOs, the expected outcomes are practical: shorter invoice cycles, fewer write-offs, cleaner rev rec, and more predictable cash collection.

Traction and impact

Tabs now serves 200+ customers, including Cursor and Statsig. Over the past year, the platform automated more than $500m in invoice volume and helped customers cut over 80% of manual billing and invoicing tasks, contributing to a fivefold increase in annual recurring revenue.

Use of funds

The company will accelerate its agent roadmap, expand engineering and AI research in New York, and scale adoption among high-growth technology and B2B firms.

What they're saying

Ali Hussain, CEO and co-founder, said: "Revenue in is the hardest and most valuable workflow in the enterprise, yet finance teams are still stuck with legacy ERPs. Tabs is bringing modern AI agents to the CFO's office, starting with billing, complex enterprise contract management, and collections, so companies can collect cash faster and reduce time spent on manual work."

Lightspeed partner Justin Overdorff added: "Tabs is fundamentally changing how finance teams work, eliminating manual processes that have plagued revenue workflows for decades. The team has combined deep finance expertise with purpose-built AI agents for revenue processing and tracking, and the rapid customer adoption we're seeing validates just how ready the market is for this transformation."

How to evaluate AI agents for revenue operations

  • Coverage: Confirm agents handle your full flow-pricing/CPQ inputs, billing, dunning, disputes, rev rec rules, and reporting.
  • Controls and auditability: Require clear approval workflows, immutable logs, and policy-based actions tied to thresholds and roles.
  • Integrations: Map connections with your ERP, CRM, data warehouse, and payment processors. Validate two-way sync and data lineage.
  • Compliance: Assess support for ASC 606 policies, SOC 2, and data residency needs. Verify PII handling and access controls.
  • KPIs: Track DSO, invoice cycle time, dispute rate, write-offs, and close time. Set before/after baselines to quantify value.
  • Change management: Start with a contained segment (e.g., one BU or region), codify SOPs, then expand.
