Taft Deploys AI Deposition Simulator Across Litigation Practice
Taft, a 1,200-attorney firm ranked in the Am Law 100, has rolled out DepoSim firmwide across its Commercial Litigation group following a successful beta pilot in February. The AI-powered tool, built by AltaClaro in partnership with Verbit, lets attorneys practice depositions in simulated scenarios with feedback on their approach.
The rollout makes Taft among the first major law firms to deploy the platform at scale. The firm's Commercial Litigation group, with more than 350 attorneys working in state and federal courts daily, will have immediate access.
What DepoSim Does
DepoSim provides live, hands-on deposition practice in realistic litigation scenarios. Attorneys get feedback designed to improve their questioning strategy and courtroom technique, whether they're preparing for their first deposition or their hundredth.
Lynn Rowe Larsen, National Co-chair of Taft's Commercial Litigation Group, said the tool produces "very actionable feedback" and ranks among the most realistic AI tools the firm has tested for litigation work.
Broader Rollout Planned
Taft plans to extend DepoSim access to all litigators across the firm, not just the Commercial Litigation group. Lyndsay Capeder, Taft's Chief Client and Innovation Officer, said the firm prioritizes AI tools that deliver measurable value to attorneys and clients.
"DepoSim has proven to do exactly that, being immediately accessible and highly impactful for one of our firm's largest practices," Capeder said.
Abdi Shayesteh, founder and CEO of AltaClaro, said Taft's scale-with litigators spread across the country-demonstrates how the tool can help attorneys prepare more effectively for depositions.
