Telangana and Blaize Sign MoU at Davos to Launch Telangana AI Innovation Hub and Advance Applied AI Initiatives

The Government of Telangana has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blaize Inc. at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The agreement outlines the intention to launch the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH) and build a pipeline of applied, deployment-oriented AI initiatives across priority public sectors.

At the core of the collaboration: an intended Blaize R&D Center in Telangana focused on advanced AI computing, plus a structured process to move ideas into pilots and, where appropriate, into implementation projects-subject to approvals, policies, and project-specific agreements.

What the MoU Covers

  • Blaize intends to set up an R&D Center in Telangana to support applied AI initiatives and government-led projects.
  • Both parties plan to identify and structure pilots aligned to Telangana's strategic priorities, with clear scope, funding, and deliverables defined in separate contracts where applicable.
  • Collaboration with relevant line departments and ministries will follow existing state guidelines and approval processes.

The Role of TAIH

TAIH is envisioned as the state's enabling platform for applied AI across public services, infrastructure modernization, and sustainability outcomes. The goal: combine advanced compute with domain-specific use cases to deliver measurable results for citizens and industry.

  • Accelerate pilot design and proof-of-concept programs tied to clear policy or operational goals.
  • Establish a path from pilots to deployments with governance, data security, and procurement compliance baked in.
  • Coordinate across departments to reduce duplication, share learnings, and scale what works.

How Government Departments Can Engage Now

  • Nominate a single point of contact for AI pilots within your department.
  • Define one or two high-value use cases with measurable outcomes (e.g., time saved, accuracy improved, cost avoided).
  • Assess data readiness (availability, quality, security classification) and document constraints early.
  • Co-create a pilot charter with TAIH: goals, timeline, datasets, KPIs, governance, and exit criteria.
  • Select an approval and procurement pathway appropriate for a pilot, with a clear transition path for scaled deployment if results are achieved.
  • Embed privacy, safety, ethics review, and model monitoring plans from day one.
