TELCOR Acquires Sample Healthcare to Automate Revenue Cycle Work
TELCOR Inc announced the acquisition of Sample Healthcare, an AI workflow platform that executes revenue cycle operations. The combined company will shift how healthcare organizations handle administrative work-from managing data to executing tasks through AI with human oversight.
Healthcare providers and laboratories spend significant resources on revenue cycle operations. Prior authorizations, appeals, payer follow-ups, and document processing remain labor-intensive and fragmented, creating delays and denials that reduce reimbursement.
Sample Healthcare's platform interprets unstructured data and executes multi-step workflows. The company, backed by Y Combinator, was founded to reduce administrative overhead that slows patient access to care.
How the Technology Works
Most revenue cycle management platforms organize data within existing systems. TELCOR's approach is different: the AI executes the work itself. Staff still oversee decisions, but the system handles the repetitive steps-moving between documents, checking payer portals, and following up on status.
Sample Healthcare will remain available as a standalone product for organizations using other systems. Customers can also integrate it into TELCOR's platform for a more complete solution.
"The revenue cycle still depends on people moving between documents, payer portals, and phone calls," said Chris Terrano, President of RCM at TELCOR. "That model does not scale. TELCOR executes that work with AI, shifting revenue cycle operations from manual processes to automated execution."
Deployment and Results
Sample Healthcare customers report faster authorization approvals, quicker reimbursement, and higher throughput without increasing staff. Most deployments go live within weeks, starting with a single workflow and expanding as return on investment becomes clear.
TELCOR is already testing these capabilities in its own revenue cycle service operations, using real workflows to measure performance before rolling out to customers.
Ankit Ranjan, CEO and cofounder of Sample Healthcare, said the partnership extends the company's reach to thousands of labs and providers managing revenue cycle challenges.
Sample Healthcare's leadership team will remain in place at TELCOR. Existing customers will receive expanded support and resources.
Transaction terms were not disclosed. TELCOR is based in Lincoln, Nebraska and provides billing, data integration, and operational software for healthcare facilities and laboratories.
