Tenable Launches Hexa AI to Automate Security Workflows at Enterprise Scale
Tenable Holdings announced Tenable Hexa AI, an AI agent designed to automate security workflows and coordinate risk reduction across organizations. The tool sits inside Tenable One, the company's exposure management platform, and executes multi-step security tasks without constant human intervention.
The move addresses a practical problem: security teams face an expanding attack surface driven by AI-powered threats and rapid vulnerability discovery, but their tools remain fragmented across disconnected systems. Manual coordination slows response times when speed matters.
What Hexa AI Does
Hexa AI operates as an orchestration engine that pulls from Tenable's Exposure Data Fabric-a database of vulnerability, asset, identity, and configuration data-to understand how different security exposures interact across an organization's IT, cloud, identity, and AI systems.
The system then automates workflows that would normally require manual effort. One manufacturing company customer reported reclaiming two days per month on asset tagging alone, freeing that time for higher-level exposure investigation and risk closure.
Specific capabilities include:
- Agentic orchestration that coordinates complex workflows across multiple security tools at machine speed
- Workflow automation spanning IT, cloud, identity, and operational technology environments
- Custom agents built for an organization's specific environment, with human oversight built in
- Pre-built agents for routine tasks like asset management, reporting, and operational health checks
Timing and Availability
Tenable said the window between vulnerability discovery and exploitation has narrowed significantly as attacks accelerate. Hexa AI aims to close exposures before attackers can exploit them.
The tool is available now through a private customer and partner program. General availability is expected later this year. Tenable will demonstrate Hexa AI at RSA Conference 2026.
