Toynk Toys Deploys AI-Enabled PLM to Manage Global Product Operations
Toynk Toys, which manufactures branded and licensed toys including Cardsmiths and Syndicate Collectibles, is implementing an AI-enabled product lifecycle management platform from Centric Software to streamline operations across its 46 global markets.
The 20-year-old company expanded rapidly but lacked the operational infrastructure to support that growth. Product information scattered across emails and spreadsheets made it difficult to track approval stages, product status, and post-launch performance.
"We are a fully distributed team and between the sister brands, our product information is decentralized," said Gena Disney, director of digital operations at Toynk Toys. "We have no single source of truth."
Why an External Platform Over Internal Tools
Toynk considered building an internal PLM system but determined it would burden internal teams and delay time to market. An external platform allowed the company to avoid that overhead while creating centralized product data.
The new system provides vendors and licensors with an external portal for approvals. This structure gives Toynk a single source of truth across its distributed operations.
Expected Outcomes
The company anticipates reduced manual work, better visibility into product status and approvals, and more reliable reporting. Cleaner data should improve decision-making for assortment planning and investment allocation.
For product development teams managing complex vendor relationships and licensing requirements, the shift from decentralized spreadsheets to a unified system addresses a common operational pain point.
