Tulane panel examines how AI is reshaping private equity deal-making

Tulane University's Freeman School of Business will host a panel discussion on artificial intelligence's impact on private equity on April 9. The event runs from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Marshall Family Commons on campus and is free but requires advance registration.

The panel brings together three senior executives: Gregg Albert, senior managing director at Accenture; Timothy Bovard, founder and CEO of Search Fund Accelerator; and Richard Elder, managing director and head of Global Portfolio Solutions at The Carlyle Group. Growth-strategy consultant Cliff Farrah will moderate.

What the discussion will cover

The panelists will examine how AI is accelerating the private equity lifecycle across four critical stages: deal sourcing, due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and exit planning. They'll address how the technology sharpens investment decisions and creates new value-generation opportunities.

Real-time reporting systems and AI-powered portfolio insights will also be discussed, particularly how they're informing industry consolidation strategies.

Why this matters for executives

Private equity firms that adopt AI tools gain advantages in speed and decision quality. For executives in strategy roles, understanding these shifts is essential to staying competitive in a sector where technology adoption is accelerating.

Paulo Goes, dean of the Freeman School, said equipping professionals with both technical AI knowledge and strategic thinking skills is critical as firms navigate this transition.
