UAE data leaders are scaling AI faster than oversight - and it's showing

Without explainability, you can't defend decisions. Without audit trails, you can't learn from incidents. Without clear ownership, you end up with heroic fixes instead of reliable systems. That's not scale. That's luck.

- Classify risk upfront
- Define tiers: prohibited, high-risk, standard. Examples: hiring/firing and legal analysis = high-risk or prohibited; content summarization = standard.
- Set "human-in-the-loop" rules and approval thresholds for high-risk use cases.
- Install ownership and gates
- Create a RACI: model owner, product owner, risk owner, data protection lead.
- Mandate a pre-deployment checklist: data sources, PII handling, bias testing, reason codes, fallbacks, rollback plan.
- Make traceability non-negotiable

- Monthly AI risk review with CFO, CISO, and General Counsel.
