UN Communications Teams Can Learn AI Skills at Two April Events
The United Nations is offering two events in April designed to help communications professionals work more effectively with AI tools. The first is an in-person skills lab on April 20 in New York. The second is an online panel discussion on April 23 that anyone can attend.
The hands-on session on April 20 runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the UN Learning Centre at headquarters. Participants will see AI demonstrations from the NYU Workplace Learning Innovation Lab and learn how to apply those tools to their work. The first 20 attendees will receive the "AI-Powered Playbook of Strategies."
Online Panel Brings Five Expert Speakers
The April 23 panel, titled "FRONTIER MINDS: Upskilling Communications in the AI Era," runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. New York time. Five panelists will discuss research-backed strategies for global communication and career development in an AI-driven workplace.
The speakers include an NYU professor who directs the Workplace Learning Innovation Lab, a French government-recognized AI researcher, a Fulbright Specialist in AI and design thinking, an NYU Stern career services director, and a London Business School alumni careers leader.
New Certificate Program Launches
These events coincide with the launch of the UN 2.0 Global Communications Certificate, a new program offering five professional skills workshops. The certificate is designed to strengthen communications abilities for UN staff and is run by the Language and Communications Training Unit.
The skills lab and panel are part of UN English Language Day and World Creativity and Innovation Week. Registration is open on the UN Languages website.
