Verily Raises $300 Million, Breaks From Alphabet Control
Dallas-based healthcare AI platform Verily secured $300 million in funding, marking one of Texas's largest healthcare fundraises. Alphabet, Verily's former parent company, led the round alongside Series X Capital and other investors.
The investment restructures Verily's ownership. Alphabet transitions from controlling shareholder to significant minority investor. Verily will convert from an LLC to a corporation, becoming Verily Health Inc.
The company plans to scale Pre, its data and AI platform designed to help healthcare organizations make siloed patient data accessible and ready for AI analysis. Pre collects information from multiple health systems, organizes it, and generates predictions to catch diseases earlier and personalize treatment.
New Partnerships Expand Platform Reach
Verily recently integrated Pre with Samsung's Galaxy Watch, allowing clinical research teams to gather health data through wearables. Salesforce is embedding Pre into Agentforce Health, its platform for managing healthcare interactions and data.
These partnerships address a core industry problem: healthcare organizations struggle to unify fragmented patient data and deploy AI into actual care workflows. Pre handles data harmonization and governance, then feeds AI models directly into research and treatment processes.
Texas Headquarters, Decade-Long Foundation
Verily moved its headquarters from San Francisco to North Texas in 2024. The company emerged from Google X more than a decade ago, spending years combining data science with medical and regulatory standards.
CEO Stephen Gillett said the funding targets scaling existing business units that already generate results. The company reported around $370 million in revenue through Alphabet's Other Bets program in Q4 2025.
"Our focus is entirely on building a sustainable, profitable business," Gillett said. The company intends to grow revenue by expanding its AI platform to power research and improve patient outcomes.
For healthcare professionals, understanding how AI for Healthcare platforms like Pre function is increasingly relevant. Organizations deploying these tools need staff who can interpret how AI Data Analysis translates raw patient information into actionable clinical insights.
