Visitt launches AI tool to automate vendor insurance compliance for building operators
Visitt’s AI tool automates proof-of-insurance verification, cutting manual effort for building operators. It ensures vendor compliance by checking certificates quickly and accurately.

Visitt Launches AI-Powered Proof-of-Insurance Tool to Simplify Vendor Compliance
Building operators now have an easier way to verify vendor insurance with Visitt’s new AI-driven proof-of-insurance tool. This technology automates the management of certificates of insurance (COIs), eliminating the manual effort typically required from facility staff.
COIs are critical for confirming that vendors carry adequate liability insurance for on-site work. Traditionally, managing these certificates has been time-consuming and prone to errors, as facility teams must track renewals, follow up with vendors, and validate compliance against insurance requirements.
“There are many moving parts of compliance, such as expiring and missing certificates of insurance,” explains Alicia Frazier, senior manager at Building Engines. “It’s difficult to know everything that’s going on at any given time, much less real-time updates.”
Why AI Fits This Task
Jonathan Kroll, co-founder of Visitt, points out that COI verification is a binary process: a certificate either meets the requirements or it doesn’t. This clear-cut nature makes it ideal for AI automation.
Visitt’s AI agent extracts insurance requirements directly from contracts and checks incoming COIs for compliance automatically. This removes the need for manual review and reduces time-consuming back-and-forth communications.
“Certain communications and final verifications will still require human input,” Kroll notes. “But as the technology advances, teams will feel more comfortable delegating these tasks to AI, freeing up staff to focus on higher-level responsibilities.”
Building on a Platform for Streamlined Operations
This new COI agent enhances Visitt’s existing platform, which already helps building operators manage work orders, preventative maintenance, tenant operations, and amenities.
Kroll describes this release as the first in a series of fully automated AI agents designed to reduce administrative burdens while maintaining accuracy and compliance. The goal is to let property teams focus on running buildings efficiently and improving tenant services.
Future AI Agents for Maintenance and Equipment Management
Visitt plans to expand AI automation into preventative maintenance and equipment lifecycle management. Their platform collects extensive data such as inspection notes and photos, which can be used to assess asset health and condition.
“Preventative maintenance and equipment management are straightforward use cases like COI management,” Kroll says. “Automating these areas can save a significant amount of time and improve operational efficiency.”
- Automates COI compliance checks from contract extraction to verification
- Reduces manual follow-up and administrative workload for facility staff
- Integrates with existing building operations for a seamless workflow
- Plans to extend AI to maintenance and equipment lifecycle management
