White & Case rolls out Legora's legal AI across 43 offices, with joint product development on deck

White & Case will deploy Legora's legal AI software firmwide, covering 43 offices across 29 countries. The firms will also co-develop new tools, including the Legora Portal, aimed at tighter collaboration between outside counsel and in-house teams.

"We are impressed by Legora's pace of innovation and openness to collaboration," said Dipen Sabharwal KC, a London-based arbitration partner and member of the firm's executive committee, noting the platform is being adapted to the firm's needs.

What's being rolled out

The rollout extends Legora's platform to lawyers across the firm's global footprint. Beyond access to core features, White & Case and Legora plan to build new solutions together, accelerating firm-specific workflows and client-facing tools.

For context on the firm's global reach, see White & Case.

Inside the Legora Portal

Launched last month, the Legora Portal gives in-house legal teams and their outside counsel a shared workspace. It centralizes firm-specific expertise, automates repetitive work, and pulls external counsel into day-to-day matters without email sprawl.

  • Build and share custom AI workflows for contract review, due diligence, and drafting
  • Automate intake and triage for standard requests
  • Keep work product and guidance in one secure place for faster reuse

Why this matters for legal teams

  • Faster cycles: Standardize review and drafting so busywork doesn't slow down deals or disputes.
  • Consistency: Apply firm-approved playbooks to reduce variance across matters and jurisdictions.
  • Closer collaboration: One workspace for inside and outside counsel cuts handoffs and version-chasing.
  • Knowledge reuse: Turn past work into reusable assets without digging through email or folders.

Practical considerations before you scale

  • Data governance: Confirm confidentiality, privilege handling, access controls, audit trails, and region-specific data residency.
  • Model risk: Identify which models power which tasks, set approval gates, and monitor outputs for accuracy and bias.
  • Integrations: Map connections to your DMS, M365, iManage/NetDocs, SSO, and CRM/matter systems.
  • Change management: Start with two or three high-volume use cases, define playbooks, and appoint practice champions.
  • Metrics: Track turnaround time, redline quality, hit rates on clause detection, and reduction in outside counsel hours.
  • Procurement checks: Pricing model, data retention terms, indemnities, incident response, and client consent requirements.

Market context

Founded in 2023, Legora has grown quickly, closing a $150m Series C in October at a $1.8bn valuation. Recent partnerships include a UK tie-up with Deloitte Legal and a collaboration with Webber Wentzel in South Africa, where Legora is the anchor technology partner in its Innovation Lab.

What to watch next

  • Co-developed tools from the White & Case-Legora partnership and how they standardize cross-border work.
  • Client-specific workspaces and models that align to internal policies and risk thresholds.
  • Clearer billing models for AI-augmented work and measurable efficiency gains.
