Wistron Launches AI Supercomputing Facilities in Fort Worth

Wistron, a leading Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer, is set to establish two AI supercomputing facilities in Fort Worth, Texas. These will be the company’s first operations within the United States, marking a significant expansion into the US market. With an investment of $761 million, Wistron plans to renovate two existing industrial buildings at the AllianceTexas development, a 27,000-acre mixed-use site in north Fort Worth.

• Primary site: Located at 15200 Heritage Parkway, this site involves renovating a 324,598-square-foot building. Over $580 million will be invested here, covering land acquisition, factory purchase, and property improvements.
• Secondary site: Located at 14601 Mobility Way, this involves renovating a 766,994-square-foot building, with an investment exceeding $181 million.

Both sites are scheduled to be operational by early 2026, positioning Fort Worth as a key player in the AI manufacturing landscape.

Robert Allen, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, noted that Wistron's choice confirms Fort Worth’s appeal as the location for future manufacturing and AI development. The new facilities will help the city lead in AI innovation and job creation.

Ross Perot, Jr., chairman of Hillwood and the Perot Companies, highlighted AllianceTexas as a fast-growing manufacturing and data-services corridor. He pointed out that reshoring is redefining America’s industrial future and that AllianceTexas is well-positioned to support these developments with a skilled workforce and strong local backing.

Wistron’s announcement follows recent AI-related expansions across North Texas:

• U.K.-based Yondr Group acquired a 163-acre site in Lancaster to develop a hyperscale data center campus capable of supporting 550MW of critical IT load.
• Plano-based Aligned Data Centers announced plans to build a new data center on a 27-acre site in Mansfield, aimed at supporting AI and cloud workloads.
• Provident Data Centers and PowerHouse Data Centers are co-developing a 768-acre hyperscale data center campus near Grand Prairie, featuring a 1.8GW switchyard.
