AI agent for architects

Door and Finish Schedule Coordination Agent

Issue a door, hardware and finish set where every reference agrees.

Door and Finish Schedule Coordination Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Door, hardware and finish schedules, plan tags and specification sections all have to agree, and small mismatches cause expensive change orders. This agent compares every schedule entry with the tag on the plan and the product named in the spec. It flags doors on plans with no schedule entry, schedule entries with no door, hardware sets that do not exist, and finishes missing from the spec. It drafts fixes for each. After edits, it compares again and repeats until no cross-reference fails. You approve the issued set. Edge case: door 214 appears on the plan as 214A, and the agent catches the mismatch before issue.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It matches by tag and room number. A reference is valid only when plan, schedule and spec all name it.

  • A tag on the plan with no schedule entry is a high priority
  • Hardware sets must exist in the specification
  • Finishes must match the room finish schedule
  • Never edit a tag without checking its room number

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Tag format
  • Spec numbering system
  • Which schedules to include
  • Priority rules
  • Issue checklist

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Every change
  • The issued set

Hard limits

  • Never changes drawings directly
  • Does not choose products
  • Keeps an issue log

It stops when

  • Done: zero cross-reference failures
  • Stop: spec is missing a product; architect decides

An example run

What happensBefore issue of a school project, the agent compared 186 doors. It found 7 plan tags with no schedule entry, 3 hardware sets not in the spec, and a finish code F12 used in 4 rooms but not defined. After the fixes, the recheck found door 214A still unmatched. The check failed, so the agent corrected it, and the architect issued the set.
