AI agent for credit analysts
Early Warning Watchlist Agent
Surface borrower stress early with clear causes and track whether it resolves
What it does
A borrower starts paying 20 days late and a news item reports layoffs, but nobody connects them for three months. This agent reads payment history, news and ratios each week, and scores each borrower against thresholds, for example late payments, falling coverage or a covenant close to breach. It builds a watchlist ordered by score, with the causes in plain words and links to evidence. It checks each flagged item the next cycle to see whether it resolved, such as a late payment brought current, and updates the score. It drops items that clear and escalates ones that worsen. The analyst approves any rating change. Edge case: news about a similarly named company is checked against the borrower's address and industry before it counts.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides
It adds a borrower to the watchlist when its score passes a threshold, and removes it after two clean cycles.
- Flag payments more than 15 days late
- Flag coverage below the covenant plus 10 percent cushion
- Remove a borrower after two clean cycles
- Discard news that does not match the borrower's identity
