What it does

An elevation certificate comes back from the insurer because the datum was missing and the base flood elevation was from the old map. This agent builds the certificate from your field work. It collects field elevations and photos, looks up the flood zone and base flood elevation for the address, checks the datum, and fills the form. It validates each field, flags conflicts such as a lowest floor elevation below the base flood elevation in a zone that requires freeboard, and reruns after you fix them. The licensed surveyor reviews and signs. Edge case: an address in two flood zones is flagged and the building's footprint is used to decide.
