AI agent for farmers
Harvest Labor Scheduling Agent
Have enough confirmed crew in each field on the right days, even when the weather shifts.
What it does
Harvest crews are booked by phone, and a weather change forces the same calls again. This agent reads ripeness estimates and the weather forecast for each field and proposes picking windows. It offers shifts to the crew by message and tracks who has confirmed. It checks whether enough people have confirmed for each window and keeps asking until the numbers work. When the forecast changes, it replans the windows and tells confirmed crew what moved. The farmer approves the schedule before any messages go out. Edge case: if rain is forecast on the best picking day, it moves the crew to the next field that is ripe and dry.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list

- Read ripeness estimates and the forecast
- Rank fields by ripeness and picking conditions
- Propose picking windows and crew needed
- Farmer approves the scheduleThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Offer shifts to crew by message
- Track confirmations
- Is the crew confirmed for each window? If not: Offer the shifts to more people and ask again. Back to step 6.
- Check the forecast again each evening
- Has the forecast changed in a way that breaks a window? If not: Replan the windows and tell the crew what moved. Back to step 3.
- Confirmed picking schedule
How it decides
It ranks fields by ripeness and weather, and schedules only windows where enough crew has confirmed.
- Do not schedule picking if rain over 5 mm is forecast
- A window needs at least 90 percent of the crew confirmed
- Pick the ripest field first
- Warn crew at least 12 hours before a change
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Rain limit for picking (default 5 mm)
- Crew confirmation share needed (default 90 percent)
- Notice lead time (default 12 hours)
- Fields and order of priority
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Farmer approves the schedule and any change
Hard limits
- Never tell crew about a change without the farmer's approval
- Never schedule against ripeness limits
It stops when
- Done: all windows have confirmed crew
- Stop: ripeness estimates are missing and the farmer decides
