AI agent for farmers
Livestock Health Anomaly Agent
Catch sick animals early and tell group problems from single cases.
What it does
A cow that is slightly off feed is easy to miss in a busy week. This agent reads the daily records for each animal: intake, weight, milk yield and behavior notes. It compares each animal with its own normal range and flags those that have moved outside it. It then looks at the whole group, because several animals off at once points to feed, water or disease rather than one sick animal. It suggests an exam or isolation and lists what to check first. The next day it reads the records again to see whether the animal moved back toward normal. The farmer decides on treatment and calls the vet. Edge case: a drop in milk caused by a known weather change is noted but not flagged as illness.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Daily records are entered
- Read today's records for each animal
- Compare each animal with its own normal range
- List animals outside the range
- Are several animals in the same group affected? If not: Treat as a single animal and list the signs seen. Back to step 3.
- Suggest an exam or isolation, or check feed and water for the group
- Farmer decides on exam, isolation or treatmentThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Log the decision and set a recheck
- Is the animal back within range the next day?If not: Raise the flag level and suggest a vet call. Back to step 2.
- Health flags and outcomes logged
How it decides
It flags an animal that drops below its own range for two days, and treats several flags in one group as a possible group issue.
- Flag an animal after two days below 85 percent of its normal intake
- Treat three or more flags in one pen as a group issue
- Do not flag a drop caused by a recorded event such as a move or heat wave
- Suggest a vet call if no recovery in two days
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Intake drop that triggers a flag (default 85 percent)
- Days below range before flagging (default 2)
- Group issue threshold (default 3 animals)
- Events that excuse a drop
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Farmer decides on exam, isolation and treatment
Hard limits
- Never suggest a specific drug or dose
- Never delay a vet call for notifiable signs
It stops when
- Done: flagged animals are back in range or under care
- Stop: signs suggest a notifiable disease and the farmer calls the vet at once
