AI agent for financial advisors
Held-Away Account Review Agent
Build a complete household picture including outside accounts and recommend changes to fit the plan
What it does
A client's plan covers $900,000 at the firm, but there is also a $300,000 401(k) and a $120,000 account at another bank that nobody has seen. This agent collects statements from client uploads and normalizes the holdings from different formats into one view. It checks them against the target allocation and flags overlaps with funds already held, high costs and risky concentration. It checks that every account is accounted for and asks the client for missing ones. After new statements arrive, it updates the view and rechecks the allocation. It drafts recommendations, such as lowering costs in the 401(k) or rebalancing across accounts. The advisor approves recommendations. Edge case: an account with a stale statement over 90 days old is marked out of date.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Review date or new statement uploaded
- Collect outside account statements
- Is every known account present and under 90 days old?If not: Ask the client for missing or newer statements. Back to step 2.
- Normalize holdings into one household view
- Compare with target allocation and check overlap and cost
- Is the household within 5 points of target? If not: Draft options to rebalance across accounts and recompute. Back to step 4.
- Draft recommendations and a client request list
- Advisor approves recommendationsThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Update the household view when new data arrives
- Household review with open items
How it decides
It reads all holdings as one portfolio and flags allocations more than 5 points off target and funds with overlapping holdings.
- Treat statements older than 90 days as out of date
- Flag allocation more than 5 points from target
- Flag funds with overlapping holdings
- Flag expense ratios above the firm's threshold
