AI agent for translators
Interpreting Assignment Preparation Agent
Give the interpreter a complete briefing and a glossary before the assignment begins.
What it does
An interpreter learns the subject of an assignment a few days before, and the prep material, such as slides, agendas and speaker names, arrives late or never. This agent starts when an assignment is booked. It reads the booking details and collects what exists: agendas, slides, previous meeting notes, public documents, names and titles, and background on the topic. It builds a glossary of terms in both languages with definitions and sources, and checks for gaps, such as missing speaker names or technical terms with no verified translation. It requests the missing material from the client and rechecks as documents arrive. It drafts a briefing list with the schedule, speakers, key terms and likely traps. It never sends the requests. The interpreter approves them. Edge case: confidential material is kept in a separate folder and used only for the assignment.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Assignment booked
- Read the booking and collect available documents
- Extract speakers, topics, schedule and terms
- Look up term translations in references and past glossaries
- Build the glossary with definitions and sources
- Are the speakers, schedule and key terms all covered? If not: list what is missing and draft requests to the client. Back to step 2.
- Interpreter approves the requestsThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Read new documents as they arrive and update the glossary
- Is the briefing complete 48 hours before the assignment? If not: flag the gaps for a call with the client. Back to step 8.
- Draft the briefing list
- Briefing and glossary pack
How it decides
It lists a term when it appears in the material and is specialized or ambiguous. It marks the briefing complete only when the schedule, speakers and key terms all have sources.
- Include terms that are specialized or have more than one meaning
- Mark a translation verified only if a source supports it
- Flag the briefing incomplete if key speakers are unknown at 48 hours
- Keep confidential material separate
