Management of Change Review Agent

Changes start up only after every review and update is complete

Management of Change Review Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Every process change needs a management of change review covering hazards, procedures, drawings, training and sign-offs, and missed items cause incidents. This agent reads the change request and lists everything it touches: equipment, chemicals, materials, procedures and drawings. It checks whether a change marked 'like for like' really is, and flags any material or design difference for full review. It builds the review checklist, assigns tasks to owners and tracks completion. Before start-up, it checks that every item is closed with evidence, including training records. Open items block the start-up note, and the agent chases owners. The approvers sign off start-up. Edge case: a 'like for like' pump replacement with a different seal material is pulled into a full review.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensA pump replacement request on April 4 was marked like for like. The scope check found the new seal used a different material, so the agent flagged a full review and added a compatibility check. At planned start-up, two procedure updates and one operator training record were still open. The agent blocked the start-up note and chased owners. All closed by April 19, and approvers signed off.
