Morbidity and Mortality Case Prep Agent

Morbidity and mortality conferences review complications so the team can learn, but preparing each case means hours of chart review. This agent takes the month's complication list from the registry and picks cases by severity and learning value. For each case it pulls the chart timeline: admission, operation, labs, imaging reports, notes and the complication itself. It drafts a factual timeline and discussion points without blame, and removes patient identifiers for slides. It then checks the timeline for gaps, such as missing days or results. If it finds a gap, it searches other note types, and anything still missing goes to the presenting surgeon. The surgeon approves the final summary. Edge case: cases under legal review are excluded and listed only by number for the department lead.
