AI agent for blockchain developers
Multisig Signer Rotation Agent
Rotate multisig signers with the resulting owner list and threshold verified before the signers act on mainnet.
What it does
A multisig wallet is only as safe as its signer list, and when a signer leaves or loses a key, rotating the list by hand is risky and easy to get wrong. The agent reads the current signers and threshold, compares them with the approved roster, and drafts the swap transactions. It runs them first on a testnet copy of the wallet, then checks that the resulting owner list and threshold are exactly what the plan says. If the check fails, it fixes the transaction and runs it again. Once it passes, it prepares the mainnet proposal with the full details, and the signers review, approve and execute it. Edge case: removal first would drop the wallet below its threshold, so the agent reorders the steps.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Signer change requested or review date reached
- Read current owners and threshold from the wallet
- Compare with the approved roster and plan the changes
- Draft the add, remove and threshold transactions
- Run them on a testnet copy of the wallet
- Do the resulting owners and threshold match the plan?If not: Fix the order or parameters and rerun on testnet. Back to step 4.
- Prepare the mainnet proposal with a plain summary
- Signers review and approve the proposalThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Check the mainnet owner list after execution
- Does mainnet match the plan?If not: Alert the signers and propose a corrective transaction. Back to step 7.
- Verified signer list and rotation record
How it decides
It orders the steps so the wallet never drops below its threshold or loses control. A rotation passes only when the testnet result matches the planned owners and threshold exactly.
- Add new signers before removing old ones
- Threshold must never fall below the policy minimum during any step
- Roster must be signed off by the owner before any draft
- A mismatch on testnet blocks the mainnet proposal
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Minimum threshold (default 3 of 5)
- Networks in scope
- Roster approver
- Review schedule (default quarterly)
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Signers approve and execute the mainnet transaction
- Team lead approves the roster change
Hard limits
- Never holds or sees private keys
- Never executes a mainnet transaction
It stops when
- Done: mainnet owners and threshold match the plan
- Stop: mismatch on mainnet, so signers are alerted before any further step
