AI agent for chefs
New Cook Training Plan Agent
Bring each new cook to full station competence with a documented, adaptive plan.
What it does
One new cook gets two weeks on sauté and the other gets thrown on the line, and the chef cannot say who is ready for what. The agent builds a station-by-station training plan for each new cook from a skills list: knife work, mise en place, cooking methods, food safety, station routines and recipes. It schedules practice shifts and tracks skills with checkoffs by the trainer. Each week it quizzes the cook on safety and recipe knowledge, scores the answers, and looks at the checkoff results. It adjusts the next week to the gaps, adding practice on missed skills and moving ahead where skills are solid. It reports progress and flags anyone behind plan. The chef signs off on each skill. Edge case: a cook who is strong on the line but weak on safety questions.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- New cook starts
- Build a station plan from the skills list
- Schedule practice shifts with a trainer
- Collect the trainer's checkoffs after each shift
- Send a weekly quiz on safety and recipes and score it
- Are all checkoffs passed and quiz scores at least 80 percent? If not: add practice for the missed skills and repeat the checkoff. Back to step 3.
- Update next week's plan with the gaps and new skills
- Flag cooks who are behind the plan
- Chef signs off each completed skillThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Is the cook on track to finish the plan within the set weeks? If not: propose extra training time or a changed plan to the chef. Back to step 7.
- Training record updated
How it decides
A skill is complete when the chef signs it off. Next week's plan adds practice for skills with a failed checkoff or a quiz score below 80 percent.
- Require a pass of 80 percent on safety quizzes
- Require the chef's signoff before a skill counts
- Move to the next station after 90 percent of skills are signed off
- Flag a cook who is more than a week behind plan
