AI agent for packaging engineers

Recycled Content Claim Substantiation Agent

Make sure every recycled content claim is supported and worded correctly.

Recycled Content Claim Substantiation Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

A claim such as 40 percent recycled on a pack must be backed by paperwork, and many are not. This agent collects the supplier declarations and certificates for each material in the pack. It calculates recycled content per pack by weight, compares the result with the claim wording and the rules in the market, and flags claims that are not supported. It asks suppliers for missing evidence and rechecks the result. The engineer approves the final wording. Edge case: a claim of recycled plastic that counts the lid, which has none, is recalculated on the whole pack.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensA bottle is labelled 50 percent recycled. The supplier declares 100 percent recycled resin for the body at 21 grams, but the cap is virgin at 4 grams. That gives 84 percent for the bottle but the label covers the pack, with a 10 gram sleeve at 0 percent, so 60 percent. The claim is revised and approved.
