AI agent for special education teachers
Report Card Comment Consistency Agent
Every comment matches the student's data and reads as written for that student.
What it does
Writing a hundred report comments in a weekend leads to mistakes: a comment praises effort while the grade has dropped, or the same sentence appears for twelve students. Before reports are due, the agent reads each comment next to the student's grades, attendance and recent work. It flags comments that conflict with the data, such as strong praise with a failing mark, and finds sentences repeated word for word across students. For each flag it drafts a better version, then reruns the check on the new text to confirm the conflict is gone and no new repeat was created. The teacher approves every comment. Edge case: a comment about a family event should be left out and shown to the teacher.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Draft comments uploaded
- Read comments, grades and attendance
- Compare each comment's claims with the student's data
- Find sentences repeated across students
- Draft rewrites for conflicting or repeated comments
- Does each rewrite match the data and avoid repeating another comment? If not: Rewrite again using different evidence from the student's work and run the comparison again. Back to step 3.
- Teacher reviews and approves each commentThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Save the approved comments to the report system
- Does the final batch pass the conflict and repeat checks? If not: Return the failing comments to the rewrite step. Back to step 3.
- Approved comments and flag log
How it decides
It compares tone and claims in each comment with the data, and rewrites flagged lines with facts from that student's record.
- Positive tone with a grade under pass is a conflict
- A sentence of more than 8 words repeated for 3 or more students is flagged
- Attendance claims must match the record
- Sensitive personal matters are removed and shown to the teacher
