AI agent for freight brokers
Restricted Party Screening Agent
Screen every party on every shipment and hold anything that cannot be cleared.
What it does
A shipment goes out to a consignee whose name closely matches a listed party, and nobody screened the name or the intermediary. For each shipment, the agent screens the shipper, consignee, notify party, freight forwarder and other intermediaries against the current restricted party lists. For near-matches, it investigates further with the address, country, registration details, ownership and other identifiers, to decide whether the party is the listed one. It rates each case as clear, probable match or unclear, with the evidence. Shipments with unclear results are held until the broker decides. It records every screening with the list version and date. Edge case: a common company name that matches a listed entity in a different country. The broker decides on holds and any report.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Shipment is booked
- List all parties on the shipment
- Screen each party against the current restricted lists
- Separate exact, near and no matches
- Investigate near matches using address, country and ownership data
- Can each near match be cleared or confirmed with the evidence? If not: search for more identifiers, then mark the case unclear and hold. Back to step 4.
- Record the result, the list version and the date
- Broker decides on holds and reportsThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Re-screen all parties before release
- Have the lists changed or a party changed since the first screening? If not: screen the changed parties again. Back to step 3.
- Screening record filed
How it decides
A name match is cleared only when address, country or other identifiers differ. Close matches with matching identifiers are probable. Anything unresolved is held.
- Treat a name match with the same country as a near match
- Clear a match only with at least 2 differing identifiers
- Hold any unclear case
- Re-screen before release every time

What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- Broker decides on every hold and report

It stops when
- Done: all parties screened and released or held
- Stop: list service is unavailable, hold all shipments and alert the broker
