AI agent for insurance claims processors

Salvage Recovery Agent

Highest net salvage recovery with the item sold, the title transferred and storage costs stopped

Salvage Recovery Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

After a total loss, salvage value is lost if the vehicle or item sits too long. This agent lists the salvage items and requests bids from the buyer list. It compares the best bid with the book value and the expected recovery. If bids are low, it triggers a new round with more buyers or a changed description. It tracks title transfer and pickup until the item is gone and storage charges stop. The processor approves the sale. Edge case: the best bid is high but the buyer cannot collect for 10 days, so the agent weighs the storage cost against a slightly lower bid with fast pickup.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

The best bid is net of storage and pickup delay. Bids under the target share of book value start a new round.

  • Target at least 25 percent of book value
  • Net out storage at the daily rate
  • Start a new round after a failed first round
  • Move to the second bidder after 7 days of no pickup

An example run

What happensA sedan with a $14,000 book value drew bids of $2,900 to $3,200. The target was $3,500, so the check failed. The agent added four buyers and updated the damage photos. Round two reached $3,900. The processor approved the sale and the agent tracked pickup in 4 days.
